How to Eliminate Dead Zones and Improve Internet at Your Home

One of the biggest challenges at our house has been to improve the need for internet coverage with so many devices running at the same time (especially during quarantine).

Whether it be browsing the internet, streaming our favorite shows, or playing on gaming consoles, the struggle with adequate Wi-Fi coverage has been real. I’ve tested 5 different products over the paste few months and I’ve found this particular dual band Wi-Fi extender to be a favorable one for my setup.

One thing to know before considering an extender is how big your home is and ensuring the unit is plugged in halfway between your router (or gateway) and the part of your home you’re looking to boost the Wi-Fi signal for. This particular model covers up to 1,000 sqft (you might benefit from several of these if you have > 1,000 sqft in your home) and you can connect up to 15 devices including laptops, phones, bluetooth speakers, tablets and much more.

Here are some of the things that I really like about this product:

  • It has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band) and provides up to 750Mbps performance!
  • The smart roaming with mesh technology gives you the ability to stay with one network but have seamless auto-switch
  • The wired ethernet port is great for gaming consoles and streaming devices for the fast speed possible
  • Compatible with most WiFi routers and gateways (we have AT&T Fiber service!)
  • Supports all major wireless security protocols (WEP, WPA/WPA2)
  • And the best part is, setup was in less than 5 minutes!

You may need to experiment a bit to figure out what part of your home will provide the best signal and adding this extender has helped improved the internet coverage at my home without much hassle.
